From The Coast to The Valley

We swapped the golden sands of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for the rolling vineyards and cool, gentle rivers of Tasmania’s Tamar Valley - chasing a slower pace, a sweeter life, and the chance to build something of our own.

What started as a simple road trip quickly melted into a brand-new chapter. Somewhere between vineyard sunsets, bustling weekend markets, and the honey-gold glow over the Tamar River, we knew we’d found home. And from that home, Tamar Fudge was born.

HANDMADE FUDGE.

We love Tasmania - almost as much as we love fudge. That’s why giving back is baked (well, stirred) right into our story. We showcase local growers in our flavours, team up with artisan makers, and pop up at regional events to share the sweetness far and wide.

But here’s the extra swirl: we also run fundraisers for schools and community groups, because nothing brings people together quite like fudge and coffee. (Trust us - we’re two retired school principals who swapped report cards for recipe cards.) Supporting schools, lifting locals, and sprinkling joy? That’s second nature to us.

For us, community isn’t a side note, it’s the heart of Tamar Fudge. Or, to put it fudge-fashion: it’s stirred right into every batch.

How Tamar Fudge was born

Every great business has an origin story, and ours is a little quirky, a little sweet, and very fudgy.

It began with a simple plan: make one batch of fudge for friends. Armed with a recipe, a sugar thermometer, and blind optimism, we quickly realised our pot was a little too ambitious in size. The fudge bubbled and spread across every flat surface, benches, dining table, even an ironing board. The kitchen steamed up like a sauna, the mother-in-law retreated and Tom’s heroic attempt at “speed-cooling” with a chopping board didn’t help much.

By the end of the day, friends loved it, family wanted more, and somewhere in that sugar-scented chaos, Tamar Fudge was born.

From that chaotic first batch to the artisan creations we make today, one thing remains unchanged: every piece of Tamar Fudge is poured with love, laughter, and a little mischief.

More than fudge

For us, Tamar Fudge has never just been about making something sweet. It started as a way to slow down, to create with our hands, and to share a little joy with the people around us.

Somewhere along the way, it became a bridge between our story and Tasmania’s - between the flavours of this valley and the memories we hope you’ll carry with you.
